Their generous donations, along with millions more from other donors and community groups, funded the 16,000 square-foot, $5.8 million state-of-the-art facility. |

The Band Perry Visits Batson Children's Hospital

Produced by Jim Albritton | Nominated for five Country Music Association Awards, The Band Perry, visited sick and injured kids at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The sibling trio--Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry--were born in Ridgeland, Mississippi and their father, Dr. Steve Perry, was a pediatric resident at UMMC. Together they toured Batson Children's Hospital while in Jackson to perform at the Mississippi State Fair.

Zombies Fill the Streets of Jackson's Fondren Neighborhood for a Charity Crawl and Prom

Produced by Jim Albritton | Zombies filled the streets of Jackson, Mississippi's Fondren neighborhood for the first-ever Zombie Crawl and Prom, a benefit for the Mississippi Optometric Foundation which helps provide eye care for children in need. Organizers hope the inaugural event will become a Halloween tradition.

Blues by Starlight Benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi

Produced by Jim Albritton | Hundreds of people turned out for Blues by Starlight, an annual event that transforms Jackson, Mississippi's Highland Village into the world's largest outdoor blues club. Jesse Robinson and the 500 Pounds of Blues Band joined with Hunter Gibson and the Gators and area restaurants to raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi.

Mississippi Firefighters Mark 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with 11-Mile Run in Partial Gear

Produced by Jim Albritton | On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Mississippi firefighters gathered at the Reservoir Central Station for an 11-mile run around the Ross Barnett Reservoir's Pelahatchie Bay in partial gear. The run commemorates the milestone anniversary of the terrorist attacks and is a way for Mississippi firefighters to show their solidarity with first-responders all across the country.
