A Night with Beautiful Minds | The Tommy & Cissy Prewitt Story

A battle with early on-set dementia and new found artistic expression are the latest chapters in the life-long love story of Tommy and Cissy Prewitt, a physician and his artist wife. Their story was the focus of a “A Night with Beautiful Minds,” a celebration of visual, culinary and musical arts, that benefited Alzheimer’s and dementia research at The MIND Center at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. This is that story.

Medical School Legacy is a Roadmap to a Healthier Mississippi

Produced by Jim Albritton | The newest building to be unveiled on the Medical Center campus is more than a five-story, 151,000-foot arrangement of brick and mortar and steel. To its champions, admirers, occupants and stewards, the new School of Medicine and its many attractions represent a tribute to the “giants and heroes of the past,” “state-of-the-art learning environments that are the envy of any medical school in the country,” a place that makes you feel “special and privileged,” and, most of all, “home.”

The 13-year-old Clinton native will represent the state's only children's hospital at the White House, Walt Disney World and at numerous Batson events during his 2016-17 term.

Jackson Free Clinic Benefits Patients, UMMC Students

Supervised by physicians, volunteer students examine patients, order lab work, provide care and offer referrals when needed.

Mississippi Culanthropy | Iron Chef Cat Cora

Produced by Jim Albritton | Celebrity chef and Jackson native Cat Cora returned home to Jackson to raise money for a School of Nursing scholarship fund at the University of Mississippi Medical Center named in honor of her mother and grandmother.  Mississippi Culanthropy, a culinary philanthropic event at Table 100, featured eight of the city's top chefs. Before the event, Cat Cora toured the School of Nursing with her mother, Dr. Viginia Lee Cora, UMMC professor emeritus of nursing.
